Testing the Up-Lights!

We laid down the first sheet of 1/2" thick plexi-glass to test my "up-light" effects. And from what I can see at this early stage, the result is going to be great!

Here, Kerne in my Stagecraft class, is my "focus dummy" for this test. We floor-mounted two 750 watt ETC ParNel spotlights. These are directly under the sheet of plexi-glass, which is 4' off the floor on sturdy platforming. Click photo to enlarge:

Once we get all 24 up-light spots in place, we can really "cook" the cast!

Hey, speaking of the cast, we had to clear the stage so they can do some blocking. Here, Mrs. Tutterow works on a marching entrance for the male leads.

Meanwhile, "Eva A" and "Eva B" watch from their balcony. I think it's good that they are getting accustomed to being on this "balcony" 10 feet above the floor! Anna will play the title role for two nights, in rep with Katie the other two nights. (I guess there's so much incredible talent here, they've had to start double-casting shows!)

Now the five "generals" are blocking the "musical chairs" gag with five rocking chairs. (Keep in mind that the orchestra pit cover, where the Directors are seen now, will not be there on opening night).
