Final Dress!

It all comes together now. Here are a few of the moments in our production.

First, there is an opening movie sequence shown on the white, unpainted backdrop that we use as a show curtain. Then the movie is stopped for an announcement of Eva's death. I have a 500 watt fresnel mounted on the scaffolding upstage to create the shadowy image of a government official.

Here is one of the many dance numbers in the show. Notice how they make use of the levels.

Since we are alternating girls in the role of Evita, this time it's Anna's turn. Tomorrow Katie will perform on opening night. Here is the famous balcony scene. (Click photos to enlarge).

The role of Eva requires a tremendous amount of costume changes. Here in Act Two she has a more confident and powerful look.

This scene shows Evita's rise popularity among the common people of Argentina. Jake is one of the 3 actors playing Che.

Peron tells Eva she is dying.

Eva draws the strength to make one final broadcast to her people.

Evita, in the wheelchair center, sees her life flash before her eyes. Body doubles enter the platform in silhouette. Notice the up-lights from under the Plexi-glass platforms. (Click to enlarge).

An emotional moment near the end.

Children surround the open casket as Che speaks a brief epilogue. Notice the dramatic up-lights in the trap doors.

The final dress rehearsal is over! Now Mrs. Tuterow, the director, e-mails the cast and crew their final notes and changes. My long list of technical notes can be seen on this end of the table.
